Job Opportunities with KPR

Are you interested in working outdoors, teaching natural history, and leading coastal kayak and snorkel excursions? Kayaking Puerto Rico is on the look out for professionally minded, charismatic individuals, aspiring to become a part of our QUALITY AWARD WINNING crew of kayaking and snorkeling tour guides.

Previous experience is preferred but not required; however, keep in mind that guiding is hard work, and requires a great deal of training and preparation. It is crucial that Kayaking Puerto Rico guides excel in a wide array of skills including leadership, teamwork, customer service, safety and rescue, instructing outdoor skills, interpretation of natural areas and cultural history, among many others. For all of our excursions, KPR guides undergo the most rigorous and lengthy training program of any outfitter in Puerto Rico; a full two weeks of intensive water safety and interpretation training. Upon completion, you will feel confident in your skills and prepared for anything on the water, as you will have practiced in all true marine conditions.

Interpretive Guide Positions

We are now hiring Full time and part time guide positions for ALL of our excursions.

Aquafari Culebra Island - Kayak and Snorkel Guide:

Aquafari Culebra offers the absolute best snorkeling in Puerto Rico, and is our most physically demanding adventure. Guides must be in great physical condition, and have excellent water skills. An added benefit for full time Aquafari Culebra guides is six months of free lodging in Culebra Island which includes: lodging, utilities, and internet.

Bio Bay Kayak Guide:

Our most popular excursion, the Bioluminescent Lagoon in Fajardo “Laguna Grande” is rated among the worlds best. With the high demand for this excursion, there comes a high demand for work. Upon completion of our training program, most new guides will begin their first few months as “back up guides”. During this time period, newcomers will continue to develop the skills needed to become a full time guide, and possibly a lead guide.

Mini Boat Adventure Guide:

Mini Boat Adventure is our newest and fastest growing excursion. Here you will find our most experienced and highly trained guides. Guides for MBA must possess a natural ability to anticipate risks, take control, and bring every guest back to homeport with a big smile! Because of the detailed nature of this excursion, there is an extra portion to the training program to ensure guides are prepared for any situation that may occur.

  3. Minimum of 2 references

  4. Basic Puerto Rico Navigation Course Certification

  5. CPR and First Aid Certification

If at the moment you do not have your Navigation or CPR certifications, we will still accept your resumes, however, keep in mind that we will not start training unless these courses are completed. The completions of these basic courses do not guarantee hiring.

Personal Appearance:

A professional and well-groomed appearance is an essential ingredient in KPR’s success. Your image will be evaluated during interview and training.

Drug/Alcohol Free Workplace:
